ahh the good ol' days...

Currently Listening Long Island Shores By Mindy Smith see related

as i sit here and watch the bucks get destroyed...i decided i needed to get my mind off football and write about several other things that are making me very happy right now...

1. mindy smith's latest album "long island shores" - i highly encourage anyone out there into country, alt-country or any variation thereof to check out one mindy smith...in a time when i was really bored with all the latest music i was hearing (except for maybe a few tracks off the shin's new recording)...ms. smith is hauntingly refreshing...well maybe i'm just praying she's still a miss and i have a shot to marry this woman...or at least her voice...or songwriting...did i mention that i really dig this album?

2. my latest recording endeavors - the holidays were good to me as far as giving me time to get my bedroom recording studio in gear (literally...hah)...and i've started working on my first lil solo debut...i know it's been several years in the making...but i've set up some realistic goals for myself and am motivated to see this one through...i hope to debut at least a few tracks here in the next month or two...i'll keep you all informed...

3. state bird's album no. 2 - the birdies are back in the studio and working furiously on the next studio album...i really like what i'm hearing so far...some really great stuff...we're going to do some touring in the spring and then in the summer so keep an eye out for that...the album should be released sometime in the summer as well...(also be watching for the winston jazz rountine's latest album coming in may...what i've heard so far is absolutely outstanding)...

4. travelling - now that school is done and over with i hope to be able to get out and around a whole lot more...we'll see what happens...but touring with the band...maybe a missions trip or camp somewhere...and a getaway with the family are are all taking top priority with me this year...

well that's all i have time for...

here's to hoping you all have something to look forward to beyond a national championship...

ok...so i've given some serious thought as to whether i want to resurrect this site or not...

and i still haven't come to a conclusion yet...i'll be done with school (forever) this next week...

*pause* wooooot wooooot!

*unpause*...so free time will once again become an option...but over this past year i've learned alot about the power of words being left unsaid...it's been a year full of high's and low's (a.k.a. a whole lot to talk and/or blog about)...and so i think it's probably been better that i've steered away from here more often then not...

i've also rung up a whole long list of things i've been dying to do but haven't had the time to because of school (and well...everything else)...so i hope to be giving that list my undivided attention here very shortly...and i truly cannot wait...

so hopefully...you won't see me on here...

updation rules the nation...

papers, finals, projects...how dare they intrude upon this sacred summer season? it's a travesty indeed...come december, however, and i will finally have the upper hand...what a blessed day that will be...

the good news for now is that summer session 2 is nearly done...unfortunately, summer session 3 is beginning the week after...and that one will be taking me away from six:forty for around five weeks...so this will be my last week playing music and things of that sort...make sure to stop by the newly created six:forty band myspace page for some possible exclusive updates during my hiatus...

in other music news...state bird is taking flight and playing several shows in the area soon and very soon so be sure to stop by the ol' myspace to check out the dates...most notably the one next sunday, july 16th at the outreach center (formerly the dover bomb shelter) in dover...it will be the cd release show so everyone come out and buy the album so coby and jared can make rent...or go here and put a bid on jared's guitar...either/or...

alright enough with all the shameless self-promotion...hopefully this next summer session affords me more time to take better care of this site...if not then life must go on...don't wait up for me, xanga...
